WHITE LAYER CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 stick softened butter
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk

Cream sugar and oil; add eggs and then other ingredients, blending after each addition. Place in 2 layer pans and bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/4 c. milk

In large bowl, combine sugar, butter, chocolate, vanilla and salt; beat until creamy. Beat in egg, alternately blend in remaining sugar and milk. Beat about 2 minutes. Ices 2 cake pan layers.
