BUTTER SPRITZ COOKIES | |
1 1/2 c. butter 1 c. granulated sugar 1 egg 2 tbsp. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. almond extract 3 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg, milk, vanilla and almond extract. Beat well. Stir together flour and baking powder until well mixed. Add to butter/sugar mixture gradually. Mix until dough is smooth. Do not refrigerate. Load cookie press with dough according to manufacturer's instructions and press cookie shapes onto ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with colored sugars or sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove cookies from sheet and cool on rack. Different flavorings, finely grated citrus peel, finely chopped nuts, etc. may be added to vary flavorings. |
