MRS. JOHN NEAL'S POUND CAKE 
3 sticks butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
8 eggs
3 c. cake flour
1 tsp. almond extract
1 1/2 tsp. fresh lemon juice

Cream butter, add sugar gradually until thoroughly mixed. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Sift flour, fold lightly into the batter a little at a time. Add flavoring and lemon juice. Bake in a large tube pan, cut a paper to fit the bottom of the pan and grease lightly. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Makes a delicious cake.
