1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
2 c. flour
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. applesauce with 2 tsp. baking soda stirred in
1 tsp. each cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice & cloves

Bake in slow oven 1 hour at 350 degrees. At Christmas time you can add glazed fruit for fruit cake.
