1/2 c. butter or lard
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 c. raisins
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. nuts

Use enough flour to make a stiff batter, about 2 cups. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
