LENTIL SOUP | |
6 c. cold water 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes 1 (1 lb.) package lentils, washed 2 bay leaves 1 tbsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 lb. smoked Polish sausage 1 c. pared, sliced carrots 1 c. sliced celery 1/2 c. chopped onion Combine water, tomatoes, lentils, bay leaves, salt and pepper; add sausage. Cover; simmer 15 minutes. Add carrots, celery and onion. Cover; simmer 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Slice sausage for serving. Yield: 4 quarts. |
