APPLE PAN DOWDY 
6 to 8 Mcintosh apples
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Step 1: Cut apples in eights, place in buttered Pyrex pie pan.

Step 2: Sprinkle with half the sugar mixed with cinnamon.

Step 3: Sprinkle with nuts.

Step 4: Sift remaining sugar with flour, cut in butter until crumbly.

Step 5: Sprinkle over apples and pat with spatula.

Step 6: Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees.

Reduce heat and bake another 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
