AUNTIE'S TEA BISCUITS (Circa 1890) | |
1 cake yeast 3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. lukewarm water 1/2 c. milk, scalded & cooled 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. butter Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm water and milk. Add butter and half of the flour. Beat until smooth. Add salt and the rest of the flour. Knead; then roll out can cut with biscuit cutter. Let rise for 2 hours. Bake 10 minutes in a hot oven. |
