MOMS SHINY TOP COBBLER 
5 c. fresh or frozen cherries
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 c. flour
3 c. sugar, divided
1 c. milk
1/3 c. butter, soft
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt, divided
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. boiling water

Spread berries in a greased 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Set aside. Mix flour, 1 1/2 cup sugar, milk, butter, baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Spread mixture over berries. Mix boiling water cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 1/2 cup sugar. Pour over cobbler. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
