HUSH PUPPIES 
3/4 c. self-rising flour
3/4 c. self-rising corn meal
2 eggs
1 med. onion, diced
1 sm. piece green pepper, diced
3/4 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. sugar

Combine all ingredients. Allow mixture to set in refrigerator, about 30 minutes. When ready to cook, drop with cold spoon into very hot cooking oil. Turn to cook evenly about 5 minutes. Make about 35 hush puppies.
