ALPHABET PRETZELS 
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
4 1/2 c. flour
1 egg
1/4 c. sesame seeds (optional)

Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar and salt. Stir in flour, put dough on a floured surface and knead until it is smooth. Break off pieces of dough and shape into pretzels. Pretzels should not be too thin or they will be brittle. Place on a cookie sheet. Brush on beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes 12 large pretzels.
