PRETZELS 
1 pkg. yeast
1 1/3 c. warm water
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. flour
1 egg
2 tbsp. coarse salt or sesame seeds

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease one large cookie sheet. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in sugar and salt until dissolved. Gradually stir in 3 cups flour, until stiff dough forms, knead 5-7 minutes, adding additional 1/2 cup flour (if necessary). Divide dough into 12 parts. Dough may rest 10 minutes for easier shaping. Roll into 15 inch ropes. Shape ropes into pretzels. Place on cookie sheet. Beat egg with 1 tablespoon water. Brush on pretzels. Sprinkle pretzels with coarse salt or sesame seeds. Bake 10-25 minutes until golden brown.
