SWEET AND SOUR BEETS 
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. water
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 (16 oz.) can sliced beets, drained
1/8 tsp. salt

Combine sugar and cornstarch in pan. Add water. Stir in vinegar and oil. Cook slowly, stirring constantly until thickened. Add beets and salt. Cook over medium heat until heated well.
