MANDARIN ORANGE NUT SALAD 
1 head lettuce
1 can mandarin oranges
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. slivered almonds
2 tbsp. sugar

Melt butter; add almonds and sugar. Cook and stir until browned. Pour onto waxed paper to cool.

DRESSING:

1/4 c. salad oil 2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix dressing ingredients together. In bowl layer 1/2 head lettuce (chopped), 1/2 nuts, 1/2 oranges, 1/2 dressing; repeat layers. Serve.
