LENTIL BURGERS 
2 c. cooked lentils
1 c. soft whole wheat bread crumbs
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Dash Tabasco sauce
3 tbsp. oil

In a medium bowl, mash lentils slightly. Stir in bread crumbs, wheat germ, onion, salt, eggs and Tabasco sauce. Form into 3 (1/2 inch) patties, using 1/2 cup lentil mixture for each.

Heat oil in a large skillet. Fry patties until golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes. Serve in whole wheat pita bread or on whole wheat hamburger buns if desired. 6 servings.

Very good. I didn't have tabasco so I used cumin powder. Even one of my kids had some.

Just made these and they turned out great. I used green onions instead of chopped and cooked the lentils in broth instead of water for a bit of extra flavor.
