BEEF OR VENISON SOUP 
1/2 lb. beef or venison cubes (can add some bones)
1 med. to large onion, diced or sliced
Salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste
3 to 4 carrots, sliced
1 c. celery, sliced
1 bay leaf
1/2 c. thinly sliced or shredded cabbage
1 pt. tomatoes
3 to 4 med. potatoes, diced
1 tbsp. butter

Brown meat in butter. Add 2 quarts water and vegetables. Cook slowly until done. Remove bones and serve. 2 to 3 hours.
