BUTTERMILK BROWNIES 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 stick butter
1 c. water
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix flour, sugar, soda and salt in large bowl. In saucepan, combine cocoa, shortening, butter and water. Bring to a boil. Cool slightly and pour over dry ingredients. Add beaten eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes in greased 15"x10"x1" pan.
