1 c. butter 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. confectioners' sugar 1 c. salad oil 2 eggs, well beaten 4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Cream butter and sugars. Add beaten eggs and oil. Sift flour; add rest of dry ingredients. Sift again. Blend into cream and egg mixture; add vanilla. Place in refrigerator overnight, covered. When ready to bake, form into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar (white or red) and flatten gently with small glass. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes until slightly brown. Makes approximately 100 cookies. |
