2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
2 c. raisins
2 c. nuts

Cream sugar and shortening; beat eggs and add, beat until smooth. Add soda to applesauce and add to mixture. Sift together flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt and add to egg mixture; mix well. Add oatmeal, raisins and nuts and stir until well moistened. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet, bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes.
