GLORIA'S SHORTBREAD 
1 c. cornstarch
1 c. icing sugar
2 c. flour, sifted
2 c. butter, room temperature

Sift together cornstarch, icing sugar and flour. Butter at room temperature. Blend butter into dry ingredients with spoon until a soft dough is formed (I use my hands). Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with floured fork. Decorate with walnut halves or cherries. Bake at 300 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until edges are slightly brown.
