1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
5 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3-4 c. flour

Cream together butter, shortening and sugar. Add egg, beaten. Mix soda and milk together. Then add to butter mixture. Add vanilla. Gradually add flour until forms dough. Bake at 350 degrees.
