2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 egg yolks
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Sugar for rolling cookies in

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream together the sugar, shortening, butter, egg yolks and vanilla until fluffy. Add flour, soda, cream of tartar; mix until blended. Roll into balls about the size of a walnut, roll in sugar and place on baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes. Top will be cracked.
