GRANDMA'S JAM CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. blackberry jam or jelly
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 eggs

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and blackberry jam. Beat thoroughly. Sift the flour, measure and resift with soda, salt and spices. Add alternately with milk to the first mixture. Beat well. Pour into well greased tube cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 55 minutes.
