FRENCH COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. walnuts
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. cinnamon or 2 tsp. cinnamon & 2 tsp. cocoa

In mixer combine butter, 1 cup sugar and eggs. Take a bath (in other words, wait 20 minutes or so). Add baking soda mixed with sour cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder and add. Mix lightly just to combine. In a chopping bowl, combine walnuts, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and cinnamon. Chop together. Grease baking pan and fill with half the batter, then half the filling then the rest of the batter and finally the rest of the filling. Draw a knife through the mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.
