MOTHER'S BROWN BREAD 
2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Speck of salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. white flour
2 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. raisins or snipped (small pieces) prunes, or other dried fruit

Combine all dry ingredients, mix molasses and buttermilk gradually adding this to dry ingredients. Pour into medium size loaf pan. Let batter stand 10 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool on wire rack.
