BANANA NUT BREAD | |
1 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 3 tbsp. buttermilk 1/2 c. chopped nuts 3 med. mashed bananas Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Add bananas and buttermilk. Blend in flour and soda. Add nuts (I use English walnuts). Divide in 2 loaf pans and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. This will make 2 (8 1/2" x 4 1/2") loaves. Line pans with strip of wax paper each way and then you can lift the bread out (after it cools a while) to complete cooling. |
