FRIED CORN 
4 lg. ears fresh corn, cut off cob
4 slices bacon
1 1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. cold water
Salt to taste

Cut corn off cob. Cook bacon. From the skillet drain all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings. Into the drippings stir the corn, 1 1/4 cups water, sugar and salt. Bring to boil. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally for 20-25 minutes.

In a small container stir together until smooth the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water. Stir into corn mixture in skillet, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute.
