QUICK & EASY FUDGE BROWNIES 
1/2 c. butter
2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Grease 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. In medium saucepan melt butter and shortening over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Lightly beat by hand just until blended (don't over beat as brownies will rise to high, the fall). Stir in flour. Stir in nuts.

Spread mixture in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes. (6 tablespoons cocoa and 2 tablespoons shortening or oil may be used in place of 2 squares unsweetened chocolate.)
