MOCK TURTLE SOUP 
Combine and brown:

1 lb. ground beef
1 chopped onion

Add:

1 can beef gravy
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
14 oz. ketchup
1 1/2 qt. water

Bring to simmer. Add:

3 bouillon cubes
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Prepare a spice bag of:

12 cloves
12 allspice
2 bay leaves

Add to other ingredients. Make a smooth paste of 3/4 cup brown flour and enough liquid to blend. Add paste to soup.

Simmer combined ingredients for 2 hours. The last 5 minutes add 3 chopped hard cooked eggs and 10 slices (thin) of lemon. Cool and refrigerate. Serve the next day.
