APPLE PIE CAKE 
4 med. green apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. water
Cinnamon, to taste
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook first 5 ingredients for 10 minutes over medium flame in a saucepan. Mix by hand the remainder of the ingredients. Press 1/2 of dough in an 8x8 inch greased pan. Pour apple filling on top. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 of dough on top of apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
