LEMON LOAF 
1 1/3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 c. sugar
6 tbsp. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk

GLAZE:

1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and lemon rind. Cream 1 cup sugar, shortening, and eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, in greased loaf pan. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and lemon juice. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Drizzle slowly over baked loaf.
