CHEWY FUDGE BROWNIES | |
1/2 c. butter or stick butter 4 sqs. (4 oz.) unsweetened baking chocolate 2 c. sugar 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips (semi-sweet) Melt butter and baking chocolate (over hot water or in microwave) in large mixing bowl. Blend well; cool slightly. Add sugar to butter- chocolate mixture. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Add sifted flour, salt, and nuts. Mix well. Spread butter on a lightly greased cookie sheet (with raised edges) or jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes or until done. Remove from oven. TURN OVEN OFF. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top evenly, and return to oven until chips begin to melt. Remove and spread melted chips over top for frosting. Cut into squares when still slightly warm. Remove from cookie sheet. Makes 3 dozen. |
