PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
8 canned pineapple slices
8 maraschino cherries
1 pkg. white or yellow cake mix

Spread sugar in a greased 9 inch square pan. Dot with butter. Place pineapple in pan with a cherry in center of each slice. Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Pour over pineapple. Bake as directed on package for a square cake. Remove from oven. Invert cake at once onto plate.
