PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
1 (1 lb. 4 1/2 oz.) can pineapple slices
Maraschino cherries
1 stick butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 pkg. yellow or white cake mix (not the pudding type) prepared according to directions

Drain pineapple. Melt butter in 10 inch frying pan without the handle. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Arrange pineapple and cherries in sugar mixture. Pour cake mix batter over pineapple. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. Allow to set for 30 minutes before inverting on cake plate.
