JEWISH CINNAMON COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 lb. butter (1 c.)
1 egg, separated
2 scant c. flour
4 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. sugar

Combine butter and 1 cup sugar; cream well. Add egg yolk, cinnamon, and flour. Spread on cookie sheet and pat smooth. Pour unbeaten egg white on top of dough. Spread around. Sprinkle pecans and 1/2 cup sugar on top. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Cut in squares while warm.
