JAPANESE FRUIT CAKE | |
1 c. shortening or butter 4 eggs 1 c. milk 3 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. baking powder 2 tsp. cloves 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. allspice 2 c. nuts 2 c. raisins Bake in layers or tube pan at 350 degrees. Makes three (8-inch) or two (9-inch) layers. FILLING: 2 oranges, grated 1 lg. coconut, grated 2 c. sugar 1 c. hot water 1 tbsp. cornstarch or 2 tbsp. flour Spread over top of layers, and stack. Top last layer. |
