CORNMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar together. Beat the egg into the mixture. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Drop onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until lightly golden at edges.
