DATE BALLS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. dark brown sugar
1 (7 1/2 oz.) pkg. dates, diced

Mix these ingredients in saucepan. Cook over low heat until mixture bubbles, simmer 5 minutes longer, stirring. Remove from stove and add the following, except the confectioners' sugar. 1 c. flaked coconut 2 c. Rice Krispies 1 tsp. vanilla 1/8 tsp. salt Confectioners' sugar

This mixture will be thick. Roll in small balls and roll in confectioners' sugar.
