SOUTHERN SWEET POTATO BREAD 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. mashed sweet potatoes
3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. grated orange peel
2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. allspice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, potatoes, milk and orange peel. Beat with mixer until combined. Add flour, nutmeg, allspice and nuts to potato mixture. Mix thoroughly until smooth. Turn batter into prepared pan. Bake 45 minutes to 50 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes, remove to cake rack. Cool before slicing. Great with orange cream spread (in miscellaneous category).
