GREEN BEAN STEW 
3 1/2 c. fresh string beans
1/2 c. minced onions
2 c. cubed lamb meat (or hamburg)
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper or allspice
1 1/2 c. fresh tomatoes or 1 lg. can tomato sauce
1 c. water

Prepare and wash string beans. Cut in half. Brown meat and onions. Add beans and water and steam until beans are al dente. Pour in tomato sauce. Cook all again until tender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with rice pilaf. Serves 4.
