CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE | |
3 egg yolks 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. flour 1/4 c. cocoa 3 egg whites 1 baked pie shell 9 inch deep 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. milk 1/2 stick butter 6 tbsp. sugar Mix 1 cup sugar, cocoa and salt together in a saucepan. Add milk slowly. Beat egg yolks with some milk to avoid lumps and add. Cook on medium to medium-low heat. Bring mixture to a boil and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Pour in a baked pie shell. Make meringue with egg whites and 6 tablespoons sugar. Beat until stiff. Top pie and cook at 400 degrees until lightly browned. |
