CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE 
1 BAKED 9 INCH PIE SHELL:

1/4 c. cornstarch
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk, scalded
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate squares (dark), melted

10 INCH DEEP DISH:

1/2 c. + 2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. milk, scalded
6 egg yolks, slightly beaten
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
5 (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate squares (dark), melted

In microwave at 2 minute intervals (high) : Scald milk in 8 cup micro-safe measuring cup. In bowl combine first three ingredients. Add to scalded milk. Cook until full boil (8 minutes?). Add small amount hot mixture to beaten egg yolks. Add yolks to hot mixture. Cook 1 minute longer. Add chocolate to hot mixture. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Add vanilla and butter. Cool slightly. Pour into baked pie shell, 9 or 10 inch deep dish.

Banana: Slice 3 bananas in shell (omit chocolate). Add filling.

Coconut: Add 1 cup moist shredded coconut to filling (omit chocolate). Sprinkle toasted coconut on top.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
