SOUR CREAM APPLE SQUARES 
2 c. all purpose flour
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. chopped nuts
1-2 tsp,. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. dairy sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. finely chopped apples

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. In large bowl, combine first 3 ingredients; blend at low speed until crumbly. Stir in nuts. Press 2 3/4 cups crumb mixture into ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan. To remaining mixture, add cinnamon, soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla and egg; blend well. Stir in apples. Spoon evenly over base. Bake 25-35 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired. 2-15 squares.
