Made this on a whim one day... not only was it easy to prepare... it was delicious! My mother loved it and asked for the recipe. I opted to use real bacon versus imitation. I do think you could decrease the amount of melted butter slight if you were wanting to cut calories along with using a low-fat cream cheese. Will make again!!!

Good idea, but I made a rue first on the stove by melting butter, adding chopped onions and garlic then adding in frozen spinach for a fresher taste. Afterward, I poured the mixture into a casserole dish and sprinkled cheese and crispy bacon pieces on top then put it in the oven...mmm very tasty!

I have made this several times, with much praise. The last few times, I added 1/2 cup almonds (wedges or slivers), which added much texture and taste.

I made a few changes... I added green onions and cut the cream cheese to 1/3 and added 1/3 ricotta, 1/3 Kraft garlic cooking creme with a few pepper flakes for kick... all with fresh spinach. Thanks for posting this easy and quick dish!

I made this dish for Christmas and will make again! No leftovers and everyone asked for the recipe. I used some of the suggestions, such as eliminating the bacon bits and adding the Italian blend cheeses.

Just made this for Thanksgiving and it was a big hit. Used fresh baby spinach and real bacon; otherwise followed recipe exactly. My only recommendation is to use half the butter; a whole stick actually pooled melted butter on top of the dish. And next time I will use frozen spinach, just to see what difference it makes in the outcome. BTW, in the unlikely event that you have leftovers, this dish makes an awesome filling for omelets the next morning! Thank you, Crystal.
