CHOCOLATE REVEL BARS | |
1 c. butter 2 1/2 c. flour 2 c. packed brown sugar 2 eggs 4 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda 3 c. quick cooking rolled oats 1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. chopped nuts In mixing bowl, beat the 1 cup butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add about half of the flour, the brown sugar, eggs, 2 teaspoons of the vanilla, and the baking soda. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in oats. In a medium saucepan combine chocolate pieces, sweetened condensed milk, and the 2 tablespoons butter. Cook over low heat until chocolate melts, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in nuts and remaining vanilla. Press about 3 1/3 X. of rolled oats mixture in bottom of ungreased 15x10x1 pan. Spread chocolate mixture over it. Using fingers, dot remaining oat mixture over chocolate. Bake in 350 oven about 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned. (Chocolate mixture will look moist.) Cool on wire rack. Makes 60 bars. |
