FRENCH APPLE PIE | |
1 (9-inch) pie shell, uncooked 6 cups sliced, pared apples 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour Mix cinnamon and 2 tbsp. flour, toss with apples. Put in pie shell. Sprinkle with small amount of water. Mix together butter, brown sugar, and flour till crumbly. Place on top of apples. Bake 15 minutes at 450°F. Reduce heat to 350°F and bake 20 to 30 minutes longer, till golden brown and apples are tender. If top browns too quickly, cover with a piece of foil loosely laid on top. |
