FRENCH APPLE PIE 
5 c. sliced apples
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter

Mix flour, brown sugar and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is like coarse meal. Combine the 2 tablespoons flour with 1 cup sugar and cinnamon. Combine with sliced apples and put mixture into unbaked pastry shell. Top with first mixture. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower heat to 375 degrees and bake until apples are done (about 45 minutes).
