CZECHOSLOVAKIAN POTATO SOUP 
1 med. onion, chopped
1 med. carrot, scraped & diced
1 c. diced celery
2 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
4 c. water
Salt & pepper to taste
5 med. potatoes, chopped & peeled
1/2 c. chopped mushrooms
1/4 c. dried marjoram
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter

Put onion, carrot, celery, parsley and 4 cups of water in large saucepan and bring to boil. Season with salt and pepper. Lower heat and cook covered for 15 minutes. Add potatoes, mushrooms and marjoram. Continue to cook until potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes.
