DANISH PASTRY BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk and milk enough to make 2/3 c. with egg
1 c. crushed corn flakes
8-10 med. apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Roll half dough to fill a 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 inch cookie sheet. Sprinkle bottom crust with flakes - slice apples over crust. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Put other half of crust on top. Beat egg white stiff and brush over crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 60 minutes. Can be frosted with powdered sugar frosting.
