BUTTERNUT FRUIT CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sour milk
1 c. hickory nuts
1 c. chopped raisins
2 tbsp. syrup
Butter, size of egg
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt

FILLING:

1 c. raisins
1 piece citron
1 c. hickory nutmeats

Grind together and make cream icing. Mix together and spread between layers.
